Working in the Bush

After we departed from Kasane on the way to Selinda in the Selinda Reserve,
We had to stop over at Chobe airstrip for 2 hours awaiting another plane to hop us to Selinda 5 minutes away by air.

The wind was howling and brought the best out of every pilot in exercising their crosswind landings to the utmost.
One of the guides also waiting for the same plane, casually mentioned that there were a few lions just around the corner sleeping under a tree, and would we like to have a look at them while passing the time.
Got into the Landrover and they were less than 100 metres away from us.
The best of all, they were downwind from us but fortunately well fed.
What an experience!!!

What a sight -- just waiting for a plane and you happen across a couple of lions. Incredible considering I could tell the same story - but it would be squirrels that I come across - not lions!

Hello, how come I wasn't told about this photo blog? Well, by some weird trick of fate, here I am. I know, lucky me.

Some great shots. I love the sunset silhouetted Ellies and that pride of aeronautical enthusiasts!

First I read the title.

Skipped the story, jumped to the pic of the lion looking up the tree.

Next thought: "Is Tiennie up the tree wiring something?"

Just sayin'.... I know you work in exciting places, but this was going to be a little much if true. Then, I read your story.
